Shopping and Dining
AGATE AVENUE
Agate Avenue is the secondary business district on the island and leads to and from the iconic Balboa Island Ferry. A park with a basketball court, as well as a public events room, are also found along this small shopping road. The gas dock and a few select businesses line the boardwalk of South Bayfront adjoining either end of Agate Avenue.

MARINE AVENUE
Marine Avenue is the commercial district of Balboa Island. Adjacent to the main bridge, the first few blocks of Marine Avenue accommodates a host of shopping and dining establishments that lend to the lifestyle appreciated by so many island visitors and residents. A variety of restaurants can be found, serving various local and international cuisines. The iconic frozen banana and balboa bars are also served year 'round and can be seen the hands of people strolling along the avenue. High-end art galleries and unique home decor stores feature an array of tasteful offerings. A church, post office and several other clothing and specialty retailers are also found along this stretch, all lending to the flavor and appeal of island life.
